Featured Authors- Coming SOON!

Beginning in July, The Book Badger Blog will feature an independent author and their book each month. The Featured Authors will have interviews posted on the blog, as well as a special activity to accompany their book.

Our first ever featured author will be Ashley Mills Monaghan. You can check out her website ahead of time, but be sure to check back here next month for the full interview.

Why indie authors?

I believe very strongly that there is a great deal of valuable and education content available for children, which gets passed by simply because it is not published by a major publishing house.

Independent authors and smaller publishing companies can often produce more thoughtful, niche books for kids. This is because they are working in smaller batches, appealing to smaller audiences. The down side to this is publicity.

Indie authors and small publishers need our love, and while this blog will include popular books by big name publishers, I want to show love to my fellow indie writers as well. This is why the featured author will always be either self published or published with a small publishing house.
