Dino Bath| A Dirty Dinosaur Book Activity

I’m a Dirty Dinosaur, by Janeen Brian is one of my son’s favorite dinosaur books. It’s one of mine too. I love that the illustrations are fun and simple. They are even made with REAL MUD.

My son loves to do the actions with the book. He taps his tummy, slides his tail, and does a shake just like the dinosaur. And with today’s activity, he even got to get dirty with his dinosaurs!

Today’s activity is the perfect activity for a Dirty Dinosaur like mine. We got our dinosaurs EXTRA MUDDY and then…

Gave them a bath!

Easy as pie.

Just get together any dinos that you have that are okay to get wet.

We have these, and they are great. They’ve lasted through his banging phase, the sticking everything in his mouth phase, and they are still great in the getting everything messy phase.

Make mud.

We mixed water with sandbox sand and did the messy part in the sandbox for easy clean up.

Get those dinos dirty!

This is the fun part. Just let them got nuts in the mud with the dinosaurs. (Be forewarned- your child will get dirty too).

Get the dinosaurs dirty in sand, dirt or mud

Now…

WASH, WASH, WASH, WASH

Give those Dinos a WASH!

You can simply take them into the bath with your child, or you can get a bin like we did and fill it with soap and water.

Scrub up your dinos
Time to get those Dinos clean!

This was an easy activity to set up and clean up. It lasted a good hour since you can keep doing it over and over again. I think our dinos got 3 or four baths and spent a VERY LONG time playing in the mud.

I’d love to hear how your dinosaur baths turn out!

Let me know if you try it and what worked for you for the easiest cleanup, etc.
